As in every war, the wounded are far more numerous than those killed. Common combat injuries include second and third degree burns, broken bones, shrapnel wounds, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, nerve damage, paralysis, loss of sight and hearing, post-traumatic stress disorder, and limb loss. Criticism often addresses Francesco Verio as a young painter, but it is true that his proven artistic experience and his decades-long participation in personal and collective exhibitions restore the image of an artist that youth has truly never abandoned, if with it we interpret the liveliness of ingenuity, the freshness of the enthusiasm with which research develops and deepens, the desire and courage to compete with tradition and the experience gained.
