Collecting in the digital age: Axa Art Collectors Survey reveals the trends

The results emphasise that art collecting is an extensive and essentially varied practice. Aside from establishing the categories mentioned, the survey shows that 10% of collectors have a collection exceeding a million dollars in value, whilst 15% have one inferior to $100,000. Furthermore, 65% of collectors admit to not employing a systematic method, preferring to proceed using instinct as a means of acquiring works of art. Only 5% of collectors base their collections on a curator’s plan.
